Declaring our Independence – the Words of our Founders Brought to Life
Louis W. Pierro, Esq.
Founding Partner, Pierro, Connor & Strauss
Town Supervisor of Colonie
July 1, 2023
Hosts: Lou Pierro and Special Guest Peter Crummey, Colonie Town Supervisor
The founding of the United States of America has shaped history for the last 247 years. The words of Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Benjamin Franklin conveyed their vision of a world governed by principles, morals, and shared values, which served as a beacon for those that followed.
Today, however, government of the people, by the people, for the people faces unprecedented challenges. Life Happens host Lou Pierro is joined by special guest Peter Crummey, Colonie Town Supervisor, who will read an excerpt of the Declaration of Independence as we revisit our Founding Fathers’ vision. How do the words of the founders carry forward not only into our system of justice, but also into local government where the rights of the people are protected and preserved? Lou and Peter will explore that topic as well as Peter’s transition from judge to town supervisor. As we all age, independence becomes increasingly important yet difficult.
