When things go wrong in life, sometimes a special person is needed to correct the situation.
That person was Peter Strauss, one of the principals of Pierro, Connor, & Strauss LLC.
I needed to replace my original Trust and Peter was recommended to me by a friend. That was my lucky day. I found Peter’s knowledge in putting together a proper Trust outstanding.
For anyone in need of a competent Lawyer, Peter Strauss is the only one to call.
I really enjoy listening to Lou Pierro’s radio show “Life Happens” on WGY Saturday at 11am. I don’t listen often enough but should. It’s always packed with essential information. Lou asks probing questions. The ones that I, as an audience member, wanted to ask.
The show title “Life Happens” says it all. When it comes to keeping up with and advice in Elder and Disability law and individuals’ rights, Pierro, Connor & Strauss is on top of it. Smart and dedicated to help those in need.
Pierro, Connor, and Strauss have been providing fantastic free education to our health care community regarding all aspects of recommended legal documents and trusts to have in place as one ages. In particular, Lou Pierro has had the experience of coordinating care for his mother who suffered from dementia, and understands what a family is up against. This experience provides a compassionate and real approach to what is needed for our aging parents and family members. The bottom line is you want to plan ahead, and be prepared for different scenarios that may play out—you want to be informed! Lou will give you a full view of that, and what is recommended so you are as ready and informed as possible. Turning away from this information because you don’t want to look at it, or putting off important decisions is not a reasonable option. Pierro, Connor, and Strauss will inform you, keep a sense of humor, and gain your trust.
Excellent Customer Service. My husband and I are so grateful to Lou Pierro, Anthony Khatchoui and the rest of the team for their exceptional knowledge, guidance, understanding and genuine care for their clients. We spent several years researching various firms, reading books and attending seminars to find the right firm for our estate planning needs. My sister, who is an executive director of a philanthropic elder care agency in New York State, highly recommended Lou Pierro and his firm, Pierro, Connor and Strauss. It was such a pleasure to work with Lou and Anthony Khatchoui. In addition to their exceptional knowledge about elder law and estate planning, they are very patient, thorough and creative. They took the time to understand our rather complex needs. Anthony goes out of his way to explain everything we don’t understand and he makes sure that we are doing everything necessary to complete the process. The added bonus is that both Lou and Anthony have a great sense of humor and are fun to work with. It makes the estate planning process palatable.
My sister-in-law died intestate with numerous financial problems. Stacey Davis’s expert guidance, compassion and kindness helped me deal with an extremely stressful situation. Not only do I thank her, I also thank the Pierro Law Firm for hiring such a competent employee.
A huge debt of gratitude to Lou Pierro and his team for outstanding professionalism in an angst fueled time. And a giant THANK YOU to Anthony Khatchoui for spearheading the effort to painstakingly listen to and explain in plain language all the legalese to my 85yr old mother. He made her feel confident enough to execute a new will and trusts over a Zoom call. No small feat. Anthony’s kindness and calm demeanor brought us much comfort!! This is the kind of care everyone hopes to receive and Pierro, Connor, and Strauss deliver beautifully!
Thanks so much for helping with our estate planning/property title task!
Lou Pierro and his team provide relevant, up-to-date lectures and seminars that allow me to provide better service to my financial clients. I am grateful that the Capital Region has a firm so dedicated to education and partnership.
Navigating the medicaid system is a daunting task at the best of times. Trying to care for a loved one simultaneously makes the task overwhelming. Pierro, Connor and Strauss provided invaluable guidance every step of the way. Frank showed such care and compassion for my Mom, and Susan from Care Coordination explained every option available to help obtain the care my Mom needed. I would tell anyone close to retirement or with aging parents to call Pierro, Conner and Strauss today. Don’t wait until you need a health care proxy, or power or attorney or a trust to call. I had to care for my Mom at the same time I was navigating the system, and without Pierro, Conner and Strauss, iI would not have been to to do it.
Anna Affatato in particular, has been a great help to me as a new client. The process of setting up a trust was a bit intimidating but Anna has been a very accessible front line contact and I’m appreciative of her accessibility. Frank Hemming was also a very patient and accessible person to work with.
My experience with the firm was top notch. Lou, Christine and Stacey were so responsive and professional. Their expertise was most appreciated at a sensitive time for our family. We relied with confidence on their guidance.
I am so very grateful for Lou and his team. There are three things I look for in business. First and foremost is integrity. Honesty and trustworthiness are absolutely essential. Second, is there a high commitment to professionalism? Is the service provided with the highest level of competence? Finally, customer service. Is this a business where I may ask a question and get a timely response. On all three points I have found Lou and his team to be absolutely outstanding. Honest, professional and caring. I offer my heartfelt appreciation for this fantastic team along with my highest recommendation. In a world where these values are in short supply, these folks are a treasure.
I have attended a number of Lou Pierro’s informative workshops and seminars. Lou is at the forefront in the capital region in the field of Legal Elder Care and pre-planning for one’s future. He knows how to guide people to protect their assets.
Attended a workshop on Empowering Single Seniors and Nora and Susan, the Life Care Coordinators, did a fantastic job presenting valuable information and resources that one may not know are available to them. I would recommend attending future presentations.
Lou Pierro came up with a very creative way to protect my mother’s estate. He freely gave of his time and was clear and caring. My mother died before we needed to implement his plan. Afterwards, the New York Department of Health found my mother’s former residence in violation of two codes. Although Lou would not benefit from helping us, he directed us to attorneys who could.
When I discovered how little I knew about being the executor of my husband’s estate, I was directed to your firm and Christine McCann and her crew for help. They intervened on my behalf on a number of problems that resisted my efforts to solve, from obtaining Executor status to tracking down a mysterious life insurance policy and getting stocks transferred to my name. Questions were answered promptly and professionally. Many thanks.
Many thanks to everyone at PCS for their professionalism, courtesy, and dedication during a long and arduous legal process. You helped navigate the turbulent waters to a successful conclusion. Special thanks to Lou, Kevin and Stacey.
When we moved from out-of-state, we asked the Saratoga Springs Municipal Judge at the time for a recommendation as to a firm to help us update our estate plan. He had no hesitation in directing us to Lou Pierro. Like many families, we have some unique complexities to be considered in our planning. We found Lou to be very knowledgeable, thorough and patient. Most recently we are working with Rebecca Cerny who is assisting Lou in a significant restatement of our wills and trusts due to changes in our family situation and tax laws. We are impressed how quickly Rebecca understands the issues and our wishes, and documents accordingly. We feel secure in knowing that a complete set of all our estate planning documents will be on file with the firm, both electronically and on paper, along with beneficiary and asset records. As importantly, the firm will be there for our family when the need arises.
This was my first time being an Administrator of an estate and your law firm made it very seamless. Thank you for all your guidance from beginning to end. Everyone in your office was very helpful and pleasant to work with. I would recommend you highly!
My parents used your firm to set up their Wills and Trust. Years later I reached out to you to help us sort everything out. I cannot say enough good things about your firm: your advice to my parents, and later on, guidance at a very difficult time, your availability to talk to their clients, and assistance through every step in handling my parents’ affairs. Thank you to the many people at your firm that made all of this so much easier!
I had a great experience working with the firm. They always answer when I call, and the service is exceptional.
Thank you PCA for helping me with my future. To have piece of mind that my family will be taken care of when I’m a memory is pretty incredible feeling. I didn’t really know what to do or how to do it, with help from amazing attorneys like Lou Pierro and Rebecca Cerny, I’ve gotten everything in order and have learned so much. Thanks for your patience with me. I would recommend this firm to everyone!
Many years ago, my Mom wanted to make sure everything was in order in her financial affairs so it wouldn’t be difficult for us when she got older and needed care and ultimately left us. Lou Pierro was excellent! Just the right touch of professional and down to earth. He inspired confidence and answered all our concerns efficiently and expertly as the years progressed. Lou created a trust that held my Mom’s residence, a shield from many expenses thrust upon the elderly later in life that would potentially destroy her quality of life. Years later, my family met attorney Frank Hemming, Lou’s associate who successfully navigated the horrific NYC Medicaid Application process for my Mom. Honestly, I don’t know what we would have done without Frank’s expertise and persistence. Always available, always getting back to us with answers to our questions and concerns. Lou also supported the effort greatly at that time ,resulting in her getting 24 hour coverage paid through Medicaid!! Sadly, my Mom passed away this past May and so we began a new part of this journey with Lou’s associate, attorney Christine McCann. Christine grieved with us, guided us along the sale of our childhood home, the trust disposition and all the little steps in between along the way. She helped us to expedite the process for the benefit of a family member is a special circumstance. Jennifer Daley also helped us in this regard, making sure the trust releases were perfect, timely and effective. I have recommended Lou and his associates at the firm to friends and relatives and have been so happy I did. In this world of trusts and estates, even being a lawyer myself, I never would have been able to get through this whole process. My sister and I as Trustees and Executrices for my Mom will be forever grateful for all the firm’s assistance!!
