Capital Region hospitals announced recently that patients should not show-up to the emergency room during the Coronavirus threat.
So what can you do if you suspect you have COVID-19 symptoms? Or other critical health conditions?
In this Life Happens radio program, we shared one solution to those dilemmas, as host Lou Pierro was joined by two Special Guests: Steve McLaughlin, Rensselaer County Executive and Keith Algozzine, CEO of United Concierge Medicine, the virtual ER company headquartered in Troy.
Steve and Keith told us about their pilot program called “ER Anywhere” that was successfully tested in Rensselaer County. When patients were able to connect with an emergency room physician online or by phone and get an assessment of their health care needs, trips to the ER decreased 97%! As a result, CDPHP expanded the program to its Medicaid patients in 16 counties for critical health care telemedicine services.
Recently, CDPHP and MVP announced that its members – over one million, combined – can get this free telemedicine service for Coronavirus evaluations.
