With over 20 years of experience in all aspects of estate planning, elder law and special needs planning, Lorese Phillips serves clients in our New York City office. She focuses on both simple and sophisticated trust and estate planning, wills, long-term care strategies for the elderly and persons with disabilities, advanced directives, Medicaid planning, residential real estate transfers, estate administration, and guardianship proceedings and appointments. Prior to joining Pierro, Connor & Strauss, Ms. Phillips operated her own firm for many years, and before then worked as a Senior Associate in the New York City Personal Planning Department of a large, nationally prominent law firm.
Ms. Phillips is recognized by Best Lawyers in 2022 for Elder Law. Recognition in Best Lawyers is widely regarded by both clients and legal professionals as a significant honor, conferred on a lawyer by his or her peers.
After earning a B.A. from SUNY Stony Brook, Phi Beta Kappa with high honors, Ms. Phillips completed a Master of Fine Arts at Columbia University School of the Arts and her J.D. at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City.
She is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, Trusts and Estates and Elder Law and Special Needs Sections, serving on the ELSN Section’s Executive Committee as Co-Chair of the Elder Abuse Subcommittee. She is also a member of the New York City Bar Association Small Law Firm Committee and Committee on Legal Problems of the Aging.
