The world changed on November 8th. Although no one can be certain what proposals will pass from President-Elect Trump’s platform, a Republican Congress and soon-to-be Republican Supreme Court increase the chances of radical reform. Included in his plan are tax law changes that would

Repeal the estate and gift tax
Tax capital gains at death (like in Canada);
Lower corporate rates to 15%;
Eliminate the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) and Net Investment Income Tax (NIIT); and
Offer amnesty for corporations through a 10% repatriation tax So what’s a planner to do
